Long term consequences of untreated gallbladder problems?

I think I have gall bladder issues all of the signs and symptoms are there. Just recently my hours been cut from full time to part time and beause of that I lost my health care coverage with my job. I need to get my self check out but my previous experience with not having insurance and visiting the er was very dishearting. Once the docs find out you have no insurance its like they don't even want to see or treat you. Does any one know what happens if gallstones or gall diease goes untreated?
