Our country, our language?

I'm an immigrant to Britain and yes sure you should make the effort to learn the language of course! its just sometimes some migrants have to make the decision quite quickly. When i came here i came in the middle of a war so at fist i didn't speak english because i fled my country so quickly and had no time to prepare for anything but over time i have made the effort to learn the language and hey i think im quite good at it (:
