What is your opinion on my continuation of the Scarlet Letter?

Kind of strange. I thought it was funny because this is a Puritan society and they don't kill people. So making Hester fight her baby was strange. I can't believe she would choose to kill her own child then rejoiced when her kid fell to death. I does not make sense but made me laugh.
