Pet traveling overseas?

A couple of years ago I was living and Korea and needed to bring home the puppy I bought there. He was about 6 months at the time. I had to show proof of his shots, and buy a ticket for him. The ticket was $100, and I was able to take Diallo with me on the plane as a carry-on item since he and his carrier were able to fit under the seat. He had to be medicated, and I wasn't permitted to remove him from the carrier at all... not even to change the padding in his carrier. Since your boy will be a little bigger, he'll have to be placed in the air conditioned storage area of the plane, so his ticket may be a bit less. You're going to need to be sure that he won't have to be quarantined when you get to your destination. Diallo was fine because of his age and because the US wasn't quarantining dogs from South Korea at the time. However, the policies vary from country to country, and can be up to 6 months. So it's best that you make sure that he'll be allowed into the countries you'll be visiting.
