What do i do about this guy?

i've been friends with this guy for most of the summer. he goes to school far away, and i'm going to miss him when he's gone. is gf broke up with him a little over a month ago because she wants to "experience other guys". i've been there for him thru the way. a couple weekends ago we made out. last weekend he took my virginity away. i fell for him completely. its normal, i know. we put it past us and we still goof off. he's always super flirty with me, but when it comes to texting it's so boring!! i try to spice up the convo/start convo's, but he just answers very short. at one point i said that i wouldn't bother him if he's busy, and he was like "no worries your not." why is acting so cool in person, but not in texting. i want to know if he likes me too? he even told me today that i should look into transferring to his school. BUT when i tried to continue the convo thru texting about college's and how hard it is to decide, he just said "yeah it sure is a hard decision" thats it! i'm so confused :'(
